Made by a pilot for pilots, the “CONFORMAL THROTTLE” consists of a throttle grip with your selection of a SMOKE Rocker switch. The grip is manufactured in the USA by Swearingen 3D works of Marion IA., packaged in the USA and distributed by the designer. Everything you order is prepared just for you, only after you order. Upon order, your configuration options are checked and incorporated, final assembly completed, and continuity checks performed to assure the value and performance I have designed for you.

The throttle grip consists of a 4.3 inch 3D printed “LH CONFORMAL THROTTLE” grip, made to slide over your existing throttle tube of the VANs RV-8 /8A throttle quadrants CT- 82F, and 83F (as pictured). The throttle adequately clears the existing PROP knob and still retains the throttle ergonomics of the original VANs throttle quadrant.

It comes complete with functionally tested and wired SMOKE switch. Your SMOKE switch is contained within the inboard grip face, and is operated by the pad of the left-hand thumb. The wire bundle exits the outboard end of the overlay and routes down the forward side of the throttle lever internal to supplied heat shrink tubing. The throttle race receives the bundle which goes forward to aircraft systems.

The “CONFORMAL Throttle” comes finished in cured urethane and finished in a military flat black... (RV-8 CT-43F Throttle quadrant shown in pictures, not included in sale).

  • The switch is mounted within the grip, wired and provided with 20 inches of 22 AWG, Shielded TEFZEL, three conductor, functionally tested wire harness.
